Foreign documents that are not in Spanish, must be translated by translators and interpreters to be valid in Spain

When we do any procedures at the Aliens Office, Civil Registry, Spanish or any other body, we must submit various documents. These documents, if they are not written in Spanish or any of the other official languages in Spain, we have the obligation to translate to submit to the appropriate body and to be valid..

However, this translation is can not do anyone who speaks both languages, but has to be done by a legal translator appointed by the Ministry of Foreign.

This appointment enables professionals to perform certified translations for Spanish.

Translations are legal once they have the stamp and signature of the legal translator-interpreter. This gives them the quality of official documents with the same legal validity as the original.

The legal translation shall once the document is already  legalised or apostilled.
